SURPRISE I'm Making it Up As I Go! But Also Send Tots and Eclairs for Roxy "Dirty Road Salad" Rose
ANNOUNCING: Mini Updates to my shop.
Welcome to The Nibbler by me, Jill Myer, a bi-weekly brief focusing on art, inspiration, creativity, snacks, and joy.
Good morning, my Perfectly Puffed Cheesy Poofs.
Happy Tuesday!
Buckle up, friends.
Today is going to be a mother fucker of a day.
Tomorrow isn’t going to be great either.
As you are receiving this Nibbler, Roxy Rose and I will be arriving at a veterinary surgeon in Eugene, OR.
Roxy will be undergoing a major surgery.
It breaks my heart into a billion and twenty-seven micro pieces for her to go through this.
But, I know it’s what is best for her.
After her recovery, she will be able to run again.
This dog was born to run at top speed and her inability to go for long wild zooming runs is making us both sad.
Please send bacon-smothered tots, vanilla eclairs, happy vibes, and all the good juju you can muster for this sweetest baby girl!
ON THE BLOG & IN THE SHOP
Fu*K the Rules. Let’s have Fun!
Do you want this print?! You’re gonna have to read the whole blog
P.S. There are only FIVE of them go go go!!!
Squeeeehehehe!
I've tried to play by the rules.
(Stop laughing, I have!)
I genuinely have tried, and I don't understand the point anymore. It's not worth the time or energy to keep banging my head against the wall and getting nowhere.
It is time to do "it" my way or, more accurately, time to do things in any way that is not what I've been doing.
There are so many things I am unbelievably good at:
Being sarcastic.
Doing silly dances
Walking
Swearing like I was born at a truck stop in the middle of a January snowstorm at 3am (I wasn't).
Finding the best snacks.
Planning epic grand road trips.
Painting.
Cartwheels. (Yes, I can still pull off a cartwheel; no, I won't show you).
But then there are things I can't fucking figure out. The number one gear grinder: I can't make the shop page on my website function how I want it to.
I built the whole website, and it's lovely, and it works; I am so happy with it, but the shop is a shit show, so I don't update it.
In fact, I do nothing useful with it other than paying Squarespace for the privilege of having it and being annoyed with myself for not using it.
But as a "Working Artist," I need to sell my art, which means I have to have a functioning vehicle in which to do so.
So I’m throwing traditional shop updates out the window!
Here's how this will go down —for now.
(Presumably, I will get annoyed with this method too, and force myself to figure out the shop situation.)
But until then.
It's going to be very "Jill".
Unpolished, unfiltered, sporadic, and spontaneous!
YASSS!
One and done.
Slam Bam, thank you, Mr. Postman.
AND!! AND!! AND!!
I think/hope this will inspire me to draw more, sketch more, and make more impromptu art, which I have wanted to do for a while now.
Here is the plan:

MY CURRENT FAVORITE SNACK
Blackberries are in season. I love taking an evening walk as the sun is setting after a warm day. The berries are fragrant and it smells like a warm fruit pie out of the oven. The berries / trail snacks growing ferociously is one of my favorite parts of living in Oregon.
TODAY I LEARNED…
How to make a stray cat shelter.
Yes, I’ve purchased a bale of straw for a stray.
There is a fluffy black kitty who has decided to live in our yard, and as the weather begins to get colder, I feel that as a being with thumbs, I should do something to help the kitty stay warm this winter.
That being said, I’ve met cats before and suspect this kitty has a home where it is well-fed and sheltered, but just in case, it has at least some shelter from the rain at our house, too.
This is Black Kitty, they will need a better name, but first I need to ensure BK is safe and cozy!
